I was born and reared in London by Irish parents. I spent hours with colouring books or exploring the London adventure playgrounds with friends. Diverse as London was in the sixties, most of my free time on weekends was spent at ballet lessons or dancing at the Irish club, Eaton Square. I travelled to Cork with my parents when I was thirteen, where I lived until the swift passing of my father. Shortly afterwards my mother and I moved to her native Waterford, where I have resided since. I raised a family of four, therefore my sole occupation was, ‘stay at home mom’ until my youngest child started University. Then I decided to return to education.
My journey began as a mature student at Waterford College of Further Education, where I completed a portfolio course. After one year there I was offered a place at Waterford Institute of Technology, for the four year BA. (HONS) degree in Visual Art. After completing that I took a year out to develop my own style of art. Then I applied for the MFA at NCAD and was accepted. I am currently in the process of preparing for my final year exhibition. I am also putting together a collection of work for New York, London and India based exhibitions.
